Budget date announced

3rd Jan 2017
by Ro Duns
It has been announced that The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond, will deliver the Spring Budget on Wednesday 8 March 2017

.

As announced back in November 2016, this will be the last Budget to take place in the Spring and starting in Autumn 2017, Britain will have an autumn Budget announcing tax changes well in advance of the start of the tax year.

The Budget sets out the government’s plans for the economy based on the latest forecasts from the Office for Budget Responsibility which is required by law to produce two forecasts per year.

From Spring 2018, there will be a Spring Statement responding to the forecast from the Office for Budget Responsibility, but no major fiscal event.
